01

Overview

I decided to quit smoking after being a smoker for over a decade. Although I tried quitting on my own, I was unsuccessful. So, I joined a smoking cessation course, but found it challenging to keep up with the assignments. Therefore, I came up with the idea of creating an app to aid in smoking cessation and make the process more manageable and enjoyable.

02

03

Pain points

01. Enrolling in a smoking cessation course does not guarantee success, and attending one weekly class may not provide enough support to quit smoking and change habits permanently.

02. Quitting smoking can be challenging, and attending weekly classes may not provide enough support. Waiting for the next class for support can make the process more difficult.

03

Solution

01. A 24/7 digital application can aid in quitting smoking by reminding users of their goals, helping them form new habits through tasks, and rewarding their progress.

02. The interface provides participants with the ability to share with the community, engage in live chats with other members, and participate in a competitive game that fosters interaction among users.

Collaboration

Collaboration with top health institutions in Israel expands the audience for the smoking cessation course, with these institutions offering the program to their members and patients.

According to research, more than a billion people around the world currently smoke cigarettes, which accounts for almost 20% of the global population. Approximately 800 million of these smokers are men. Every year, a million people die as a result of smoking, representing 9.5% of all deaths worldwide.

Tobacco not only causes death but also disrupts overall lifestyle. Therefore, it is crucial to find a solution that can help smokers quit smoking and transition to a healthier lifestyle.

Weaknesses

  • Community chat is not possible
  • Self-use and non-collaborative interface

  • There is no information about prescriptions
  • There is no information about other smoking cessation options
  • There is no cooperation with the health institutions
  • Self-use and non-collaborative interface
  • There is no cooperation with the health institutions
  • Focuses on the process after quitting smoking

Conclusion

After reviewing these interfaces, I realized that most of them focus on the post-quitting smoking process and encourage the maintenance of a non-smoking lifestyle. However, there is currently no interface that addresses the actual process of quitting smoking during a cessation course at health institutions such as “Kalelit” or “Maccabi”.

User Flow

I researched and analyzed three dominant competitors in the smoking cessation interface market to improve the functionality of our interface.

09

Wireframes

To understand the basic structure and layout of the interface, I created wireframes and then moved on to developing animations. I began with video sketches after finalizing the essential features and characteristics of the interface.

Quitting smoking has nothing to do with nicotine withdrawal but everything to do with our minds.

10

User Interface

During the design process, I prioritized making design decisions that aligned with the application’s goals and values.
