Recognized among the world's top special event companies by Special Events Magazine , Revolution brings creative vision to life through exceptional design, technical expertise, and production execution.

Our extensive in-house capabilities include audio-visual production, lighting, staging, furniture and décor rentals, specialty linens and fabrics, graphics, and custom fabrication.

Our mission is simple: Dream Big, Do Good, Design Bold, Deliver!

We are a creative, fast-paced, and collaborative organization where innovation, craftsmanship, accountability, and exceptional client experiences are at the center of what we do.

The Opportunity

Revolution is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Director of Operations to lead our operational departments, strengthen organizational performance, and drive efficiency, accountability, and profitability.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive-level position holds direct responsibility for overseeing project management, event production, sales, warehouse and inventory, fabrication, logistics, transportation, and field operations.

The ideal candidate is a confident, solutions-oriented leader with strong financial acumen, exceptional people-management skills, and the ability to bring structure and consistency to a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Department Management

  • Provide strategic direction and direct oversight of all operational departments and their managers.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance standards, and clear accountability across teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers while addressing personnel challenges, resolving conflicts, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Make independent operational decisions within established budgets, policies, and delegated authority.

Production & Operational Execution

  • Oversee operational planning and execution of multiple concurrent events and production projects, from initial handoff through completion.
  • Ensure effective coordination of project management, fabrication, warehouse, logistics, transportation, and field operations.
  • Manage operational priorities, staffing resources, scheduling, and production readiness to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality execution.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage operational budgets, labor utilization, subcontractor expenses, transportation costs, and departmental profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, maximize equipment utilization, and strengthen project margins.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, equipment maintenance, and company asset management.

Systems & Organizational Improvement

  • Evaluate and improve operational workflows, departmental processes, and cross-functional communication.
  • Establish standard operating procedures, measurable KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Identify organizational and resource gaps and implement scalable solutions that support operational growth.

Executive Collaboration

  • Partner with the CEO to translate company objectives into operational priorities and actionable plans.
  • Collaborate with administrative and financial leadership on staffing, HR processes, budgeting, reporting, and company-wide policies.
  • Provide executive-level reporting, recommendations, and operational insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive operations or production leadership experience, including significant responsibility for managing multiple departments or functional teams.
  • Experience in event production, live entertainment, experiential production, technical production, or a closely related project-driven industry.
  • Proven success managing department leaders, operational budgets, personnel performance, and organizational change.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, with demonstrated ability to improve efficiency, control costs, and drive profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

  • Executive leadership experience within a full-service event production, staging, fabrication, or technical production company.
  • Experience overseeing warehouse operations, transportation, field labor, inventory, and production logistics.
  • Familiarity with project management, workforce scheduling, inventory management, and operational reporting systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Work Environment: This is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Glen Burnie, Maryland, requiring regular engagement with office, warehouse, fabrication, and production teams. Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel may be necessary to support event operations.

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of an established, creatively driven event production company. We are seeking a leader who can strengthen our operational foundation, develop our teams, and help position Revolution for continued growth and long-term success.

Dream Big. Do Good. Design Bold. Deliver!
