Candidates must live in the Pittsburgh, PA area to be considered!

The Senior Tax Accountant will work as part of a collaborative team to support the quarterly and annual income tax provision process and also assists with federal, state, and local income and franchise tax compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
\n
• Calculate current and deferred income tax expense for U.S., federal, state, local, and foreign jurisdictions
\n
• Prepare and analyze effective tax rate (ETR) calculations, rate reconciliations, and supporting schedules
\n
• Identify, analyze, and document book/tax differences (IRS Schedule M-3 information)
\n
• Assess the realizability of deferred tax assets and develop valuation allowance analyses
\n
• Calculate and document uncertain tax positions (UTPS) in accordance with ASC 740-10 (FIN 48)
\n
• Prepare tax account reconciliations and supporting documentation for statutory reporting requirements
\n
• Assist in the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return, and prepare and file state income tax returns, including preparing proper documentation for tax positions
\n
• Assist in the analysis of the tax impact of strategic tax initiatives, changes in federal and state tax legislation, as well as research of tax positions as required
\n
• Identify and implement process changes to improve efficiencies across income tax areas
\n

EXPERIENCE:

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
\n
• 2 to 3 years of federal and state tax compliance
\n
• Public accounting tax experience is preferred (Big 4 is not required)
\n
• Exposure to ASC 740 tax provision calculations preferred
\n
• Strong understanding of tax accounting rules under GAAP
\n
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
\n
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
\n
• Team player
\n
• Willingness to learn
\n
• Ability to work effectively remotely
\n
• Experience with tax research software (CCH IntelliConnect and/or RIA Checkpoint)
\n
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
\n
• Corptax experience preferred
\n
